• The boiler. Fifteen to twenty years is a full life for a domestic boiler. If yours is original, it is worth having assessed honestly rather than waiting for a January failure. • The unvented cylinder, if you have one. Many houses of this era do. They carry safety devices, an expansion vessel and relief valves, that need checking annually, and a very large number have never been serviced since the house was built. • Shower valve cartridges. In this water they have had fifteen years to scale, which is well past their comfortable life. Seizing is the most common single repair we attend across Milton Keynes.
